Educated as an architect and industrial designer, with experience in naval architecture, Vitale approach to yacht design is a combination of creativity and international business experience.
Vitale was born and grew up in Italy and travelled and lived in many countries including Canada, where he spent almost 10 years. Vitale earned a degree in Architecture from the National Italian University and a Diploma in Engineering and Technology. He began his career working on architecture and industrial design projects and prior to the creation of his own firm, he served as design director for the International Shipyard Ancona, an internationally recognized shipyard specialized in mega yachts, based in Italy. He was responsible for the design process management and styling of several yachts ranging from 36m up to 63m.
Also as consultant he has provided design services to private clients and mayor yacht brokers as Rodriguez Group in France. His competence in yachts construction includes both composite materials and metal technology. He maintains a professional practice, Vitale Marine Design, based in Italy, where he provide styling and design services to the luxury yacht industry.
Vitale Marine Design employs the latest and most sophisticated design technologies to provide a complete development process from concept and styling to virtual and physical prototypes. He believes that design is a strategic tool such to implement designs that follow market trends and create products that have distinct personality.
He currently works also as Assistant Professor at the Polytechnic University of Ancona. His teaching content ranges from Yacht Design Methodology to studio/practice based courses with emphasis on 3Dmodeling and rapid prototyping and both his teaching and research interests include design methodologies with emphasis in the implementation of technology-based design tools.
